Description:

Support Surgery Oncology patients in Doctor's Le and Franko practice. Assist patients with navigating their treatment plans including but not limited to surgery, chemotherapy, radiation and possible other procedures. Connecting with other departments that these patients could potentially need care from. Support of the total family and support care givers.

ESSENTIAL KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Proactively acts as a patient advocate, working to overcome patient barriers, and resolve concerns.

  2. Establishes and maintains a knowledge base of Medicare preventive screenings including any updates.

  3. Investigates problems and makes recommendation to the manager for resolutions.

  4. Assists with coordination of and participates in orientation and staff development activities as requested.

  5. Utilizes staff to evaluate and determine priority situations by observing the staff within their assigned clinics.

  6. Participates effectively as a lead team member in the clinic by being a resource and accountable to peers, providers and patients and acts as a liaison between the other staff and the manager.

  7. Assumes responsibility for implementing QI with guidance from the manager.

  8. Assists with implementing process changes or other duties as assigned to meet department goals.

  9. Maintains practice standards regarding quality improvement.

  10. Assists with performance standards and evaluation of staff.

  11. Other duties as assigned by management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Required Licensure and Certifications · Possession of a current or compact state license as a Registered Nurse issued/defined by the State of Iowa. · Basic Life Support (BLS) certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and American Heart Association Basic

Life Support. · Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities · Minimum of two years’ experience working in the AWV nurse role.
