Job Description
We are Iowa OSHA Consultation and Education. We are looking for an individual that has the desire to keep Iowa’s workforce safe and healthy by helping smaller private and public employers come into compliance with OSHA regulations. The Iowa Department of Inspections, Appeals, and Licensing (DIAL) is seeking a highly motivated, skilled, solution-oriented, and enthusiastic Safety Professional to join our consultation and education team and serve as a safety and health consultant. Position Overview
As a Safety and Health Consultant in the IOSHA Division, you will work under the supervision of the Consultation and Education Bureau Chief at our central office near Valley Junction in Des Moines, Iowa. You will work together with the consultation program manager, consultants and education staff to identify and offer education, best practices and corrective action for workplace hazards in facilities and construction sites across the state.
Iowa OSHA is located at 6200 Park Ave. Des Moines, IA 50321, but our services are statewide. Travel is required for this position. The businesses we service are statewide, and we must be as well. Overnight and day travel are required. Overnight travel can be up to four nights per week.

Experience providing Safety Training
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in civil, mechanical, electrical or industrial engineering, or industrial safety education;
OR
an equivalent combination of education and experience substituting experience equal to one year of full time work for a public or private organization where the preponderance of duties were directly related to safety enforcement for each year of the required education to a maximum substitution of four years.
