Animal Rescue League of Iowa Second Chance Ranch Supervisor (Full-Time) in Des Moines, Iowa
As Iowa’s largest nonprofit animal shelter, we are committed to protecting animals and addressing the growing demand for our Second Chance Ranch. Our mission has taken a giant leap forward and will be opening new ranch on a 20+ acre property a mile from the current ARL Main Campus in Des Moines. This new ranch will continue to serve the ARL’s mission by providing a safe haven for horses rescued from abuse, neglect and abandonment, and is also a temporary home for other barn animals waiting for new loving families.
We are currently seeking a Full-Time – Second Chance Ranch Supervisor to oversee and lead our barn animal care and program operations. This position calls for an experienced leader with background in barn animal management, including nutrition and medical care, to ensure the well-being of our animals. The Supervisor will oversee staff and volunteers, maintain facilities and organize clinics and events, while collaborating with the development team to support the organization’s outreach and public relations effort. every day for the animals and our community.

Barn animal care & customer experience/service experience (required).
Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record (required).
Provide leadership and direction to the Second Chance ranch team.
Ability to function in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills and openness to change
Team player and self-starter
Supportive and embracive to a culture of acceptance, open communication, and a positive work environment
We would also consider candidates with a degree in large animal veterinary care and/or nutrition.
