Description We're on the lookout for an experienced accounting professional to take on the permanent role of Senior Accountant at a growing Professional Services company in the DES MOINES, Iowa area. As a Senior Accountant, your duties will include financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. This position offers you great long-term potential and a strong compensation and benefits package. This Senior Accountant role is located in Des Moines, Iowa.

Your responsibilities

• When working with business partners, ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls. Additionally, be able to provide support on special requests

• Contribute to coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

• Perform monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP

• Dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

• Supply Balance Sheet account reconciliations

• Assemble monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

• Coordinate Ad-hoc projects as necessary

• Provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)

• Participate in various department-wide initiatives Requirements - Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

• Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment

• Be detailed, flexible, and organized

• Strong time management skills preferred

• Familiarity with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required

• The ideal candidate will be highly-skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills

• BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred

• Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance

• Prior work done in public accounting is desired

• Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired

• Proficient in ERP systems

• 3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

• Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

• Proficiency in Monthly Financial Reports

• Monthly Financial Reporting experience preferred

• Financial reporting experience desired

• Internal Financial Reporting experience required
