Description We are looking for a Sr. Accountant to join our team in Des Moines, Iowa. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity in our industry. As a Sr. Accountant, your responsibilities will encompass managing and optimizing our Accounts Receivable and Cash Application functions.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all aspects of the Accounts Receivable process.

• Ensure accurate and timely application of cash to customer accounts.

• Manage customer account details and initiate collection actions for overdue accounts as needed.

• Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to address and resolve billing and payment issues.

• Develop processes to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the accounts receivable operations.

• Prepare detailed accounts receivable reports and forecasts to provide insights on cash flow and financial performance.

• Conduct month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts receivable.

• Monitor and enforce compliance with company credit policies and procedures.

• Mentor and support junior accounting staff in accounts receivable and cash application tasks.

• Analyze aging reports to monitor overdue accounts and initiate collection actions as needed. Requirements

• Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations

• Substantial experience with general ledger and journal entries

• Command over Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and data management

• Experience in executing month end close procedures accurately and in a timely manner

• Knowledge and experience with NetSuite, Oracle Fusion, and SAP accounting software

• Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Detail-oriented with high level of accuracy in work

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred

• Must have a solid understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices

• Proven experience as a senior accountant with a minimum of five years in the field.
