Molina Healthcare Sr Business Relationship Mgr, IT - Remote in Des Moines, Iowa
JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary
Responsible for leveraging technology for the benefit of the business. Interfaces with and manage strategic relationships with any business partners, both internal to Molina and external, by representing & promoting Information Technology (IT) capabilities. While reporting to the Director of Business Relationship Management, this role also works with health plan leadership in an indirect reporting relationship.
Job Duties
Business Relationship Management
Serve as a member of Health Plan Senior Leadership Team
Focus on building Trust relationship with stakeholders, such as State Officials, health plan Presidents/Senior Management and/or Corporate Executives to understand their business needs, strategies, priorities, and key issues
Builds, manages, and maintains effective Business relationships with key stakeholders in business domain across Health plans, Corporate Healthcare functions, and State Officials
Ensures the Health Plans and business units understand the technology solution, overall solution delivery, compliance to IT governance processes, and architectural standards
Provides technical and process knowledge within IT across silos and business partners to support consulting, problem resolution/facilitation and effective intake and solutioning
Management and Strategic Planning
Works closely with Corporate IT leadership to deliver key business initiatives, process improvements, managing SLAs and business communication
Drives efficiency, looks for, and documents ways to increase the efficiency through continuous improvement goals and process maturation taking into account budget impacts
Translates business needs into IT work product and or project requests
Assimilates and documents business needs project requests and benefit value documentation including high level IT requirements, compliance implications and cost benefit analysis
Demonstrates Healthcare business process and/or functional knowledge
Knowledgeable of State Medicaid contract Service Level Agreements and IT support for and understanding of these service levels
Corporate Application Architecture, Integration and Development
Maintains management/technical skills that can be utilized in the field to solve complex problems
Effectively manages business escalations within the IT organization by ensuring appropriate accountability, sense of urgency, communication and follow through to closure
Develops and implements reports with repeatable processes to satisfy state or federal CMS reporting requirements
Demonstrates use of tools, techniques, and communications soft skills to build and maintain effective business relationships on behalf of IT
Communicates and facilitates issue resolution with 3rd Party Vendors
Continuous improvements of established reports in production to ensure best performance
Innovation and Technological Trends
Demonstrates advanced knowledge and understanding of business work pipeline, IT roadmap, business impacts and required interactions to link these efforts to portfolio management processes; facilitates with clients to ensure work is considered in pipeline
Provides knowledge of business processes, IT technologies and process to inform appropriate project triage. Consults with the business (as well as collaboration with IT) on project scope, assumptions development progress and estimation
Participates in and understands basic IT strategy development and Molina process design projects
Communicates best practices across health plans and Molina organization.
Communications
Develops effective processes, forums and tracking mechanisms to continuously improve process through Business feedback, proactive handling of Business complaints and facilitation of resolution.
Utilizes standard communication protocols and forums to consistently provide updates and promotion of IT services/projects, which includes support and maintenance of marketing plan to promote within IT organization, IT wins/major projects and improves IT value perception both with IT employees and with our business community.
Participates in state or government meetings as well as coordinate additional MIT SME participation as necessary
Job Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare, Computer Science, Information Systems or 10 years of related field or equivalent experience
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
7-10 years business function or relations management experience and/or 5-7 years IT or system delivery or related experience.
3 years strategic planning experience.
Project management background.
Ability to manage relationships between the IT department and assigned health plans, while also serving the role of health plan IT leader
Exceptional communication skills, is trained and comfortable in IT architecture, the software development lifecycle, project management, prioritization and has outstanding problem-solving abilities
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Healthcare related field
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
3+ years management experience.
3 – 5 years managed care experience.
PREFERRED LICENSE, CERTIFICATION, ASSOCIATION:
Business Relationship Management Professional (BRMP)
Certified Business Relationship Manager (CBRM)
PMI - Project Management Professional (PMP)
CSM - Certified Scrum Master

Pay Range: $88,453 - $206,981 / ANNUAL
