Principal Financial Group Sr Data & Analytics Consultant in Des Moines, Iowa

What You'll Do

Are you passionate about using AI to help solve business problems? Are you an analytic problem solver who can drive solutions by thinking creatively, prioritizing, and innovating? We are seeking a Data & Analytics Consultant to join our enterprise team and help drive the adoption and impact of our generative AI and language AI solutions. In this role, you will serve as a bridge between our technical experts and business partners, ensuring effective communication and alignment of objectives. You'll play a critical role in translating complex data science concepts into business-friendly language, guiding art of the possible discussions, driving adoption of analytics-driven strategies, and maximizing the impact of our analytics solutions.

  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand their business objectives and challenges; find opportunities for advanced analytics, particularly NLP (Natural Language Processing) and GenAI techniques, to create scalable solutions.

  • Develop and nurture relationships of peers and business partners to foster collaboration.

  • Support and influence value quantification, prioritization and resource decisions.

  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams, including data scientists, engineers, and business operations, to understand interdependencies and ensure data science solutions meet business partner needs.

  • Manage multiple concurrent priorities given competing timelines and thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

  • Understand business objectives, processes, and drivers and is an active participant in strategic discussions to gather requirements, clarify scope, prioritize deliverables and document other functional or technical requirements.

  • Provide technical and business mentorship to business partners, both within the business and across the enterprise.

  • Partner with analytics teams, from business intelligence to data science, to support modeling and sophisticated analytics demonstrating your business and technical expertise.

Who You Are

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree (studies related to data science, predictive analytics or statistics/mathematics is a plus) and 5+ years of related analytics, consulting, project management, or equivalent experience

  • You have advanced consulting techniques, roles, and responsibilities in providing technical or business guidance to clients, both within the business and across the enterprise

  • You are adaptable to changing strategies and enjoy collaborating with business and technical teams

Skills That Will Help You Stand Out

  • Knowledge of data science and AI techniques and tools and the data science product development life cycle; Experience consulting or working on data science or AI projects; Commitment to ongoing learning around advancements in AI technology and tools.

  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of complex data into meaningful conclusions and recommendations to business clients; effectively communicate to a variety of partners through presentations, slide decks and emails.

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$95200 - $182400 / year

Time Off Program

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.
