Job Description
The Iowa Department of Revenue’s Lottery Division is currently seeking aStorekeeper 2to join our Des Moines team.
The Iowa Lottery delivers value to the state of Iowa by providing responsible entertainment to the public, maximizing revenues, and maintaining the highest standards of integrity, security and accountability. Iowa Lottery tickets are sold in about 2,500 licensed retail locations in all 99 Iowa counties.
The Lottery’s guiding principles include:

Maintaining the “Iowa” nature of the Iowa Lottery through the organization’s product offerings, marketing and communications
Consistently offering an innovative and entertaining portfolio of products to Iowans
Being thoughtful stewards of state of Iowa resources by increasing Lottery operational efficiencies through consistent monitoring and control of business processes
Responsibly increasing sales
Delivering robust proceeds annually to the state of Iowa
In this position you will:
Receive and store Lottery tickets, promotional materials and supplies, as well as account for all paperwork involved
Be responsible for a clean, organized and secure warehouse
Replenish DSR car stock lottery tickets according to predetermined amounts using Lottery computer system
Audit and scan returned tickets to the warehouse, and prepare all defective, partial, and full pack tickets for return to Central Warehouse
Coordinate paperwork to be returned with partial, full and defective returns
Verify ticket numbers are checked by both storekeeper and DSR against the shipment invoice/manifest
Preference will be given to candidates with the following:
Experience in handling, storing and issuing product/materials
Experience of full-time clerical, inventory, warehousing or other job related work
Ability to work alone and as part of a team
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong organization skills
Ability to adapt to changing work environments and willing to learn new skills
Job Specific Competencies:
Knowledge of the objectives of a supply system operation
Ability to learn and apply departmental supply regulations and procedures
Ability to operate personal computers and use word processing, spreadsheet and database software applications
Ability to lift heavy objects and perform prolonged physical labor

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Experience equal to two years of full-time clerical, inventory, stores, supply, warehousing or other job related work;
OR
employees with current continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes experience equal to twelve months of full-time work as a Storekeeper 1.

Additional Qualification Requirements
Designated positions in this job class require applicants to obtain the required Commercial Drivers License and endorsements within a period of time as determined by the appointing authority at the time of hire.
