Are you passionate about helping organizations build strong teams while making a positive impact? The Animal Rescue League of Iowa (ARL) is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will support the ARL’s mission by managing full-cycle recruitment, collaborating with hiring managers, and driving strategies to attract a diverse, qualified candidate pool.
As a Talent Acquisition Specialist at the ARL, you’ll play a key part in hiring compassionate, dedicated professionals who share our commitment to animal welfare. You will also help implement effective onboarding practices to ensure smooth transitions for new team members.

Key Responsibilities include full-cycle recruitment, developing and implementing sourcing strategies, active recruitment, attending career fairs and networking, onboarding and orientation, data and reporting related to talent acquisition, and HR project support.
Additional Information: This is a full-time, on-site position at the ARL’s Main location working during standard business hours. Your work will directly contribute to the ARL’s mission to make a positive difference in the lives of animals and the people who care for them.
We are seeking qualified candidates who have a bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. A minimum of 1 year of experience in Human Resources Management or Talent Acquisition is preferred, and SHRM certification is also a plus. The ideal candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills, a proven track record in developing and executing creative recruitment strategies to attract top talent for diverse roles, proficiency with applicant tracking systems (e.g., ADP), and a solid understanding of employment laws and best practices in recruitment.
