POSITION PURPOSE
The Accreditation Coordinator for the Eastern Region (MercyOne Dubuque, MercyOne Dyersville and MercyOne Clinton inclusive of Clinics (all sites)) is responsible for planning, organizing and maintaining processes to ensure organizational compliance with regulatory standards. The Accreditation Coordinator is the chairperson and leads The Joint Commission Compliance Leader meeting. This individual leads accreditation work of compliance and improvement in the area of Joint Commission standards, Conditions of Participations, and State standards as appropriate with leaders within the organization. This individual participates in outside agencies such as, but not limited to, The Joint Commission, Department of Inspection and Appeals, and other announced and unannounced surveys. The Accreditation Coordinator also participates in department rounding, LEAN improvement projects, system and network meetings, and is a key member of designated hospital and clinic committees.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of Health Informatics through equivalent combination of education and experience.
For a clinician, must have relevant credentials as defined below:
a. Pharmacist: PharmD and/or master's degree with the focus on Health Informatics or related discipline.
b. Registered Nurse: Master’s Degree with the focus on Health Informatics or related discipline. Doctorate degree in related discipline preferred.
c. Active and current license for Registered Nurse and Pharmacist.
- For non-clinician, Master’s Degree with the focus on Health Informatics or related field
required. Doctorate degree in a related discipline preferred.
Fellowship, academic courses or other formal training in Health Informatics preferred.
Certification from a national informatics certifying body preferred.
At least seven (7) years of work experience consisting of leadership and health informatics roles as well as experience at a multi-hospital system including acute and ambulatory care venues.
Experience influencing senior executives. Highly developed verbal and written communication, persuasion and negotiation skills in order to effectively identify and present services, assess organizational development opportunities, facilitate improvements, and present advisory, persuasive and authoritative recommendations to all levels of management.
Proven record of accomplishment of effectively consulting with/coaching business executives/entities in performance improvement initiatives and in designing and implementing organizational capability interventions in large/complex organizations.
Exceptional leadership, management and facilitation skills. Demonstrated ability to skillfully counsel, collaborate and negotiate; inspire and build confidence in others; create alliances; obtain support and respect from diverse groups and foster an understanding and commitment to the ministry. Ability to adapt style and approach to match the needs of varying teams, individuals and situations. Extensive knowledge and experience leading and managing complex organizational change and performance improvement.
Advanced analytical, evaluative and problem-solving skills to serve in an advisory role in inspiring and initiating new ideas, determining strategies in the absence of guidelines, fostering innovative approaches to situations/processes/issues.
Demonstrated proficiency and expertise to identify, evaluate and articulate operational opportunities, and risks, business needs/gaps, and understand customer/stakeholder interests.
Demonstrated experience in leading teams, transformational change, including knowledge and use of change leadership models, process redesign, plan implementation and accountability for execution. Ability to coach, mentor and provide guidance to lower level colleagues.
Experience in overseeing and leading the implementation of health information technology projects across the care continuum, performance/business process improvement activities, including analyzing clinical workflow processes, utilizing continuous process improvement methodologies, to ensure the delivery of excellence in patient care.
Advanced business management skills to develop new or enhance existing operational and system strategies, policies and programs. Executive project management skills to lead strategic initiatives, identify and prioritize business needs, provide effective solutions and manage the necessary resources to accomplish goals and objectives.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communications skills, presentation skills, advanced analytical skills, be well organized and maintain a highly professional manner and appearance.
Strong interpersonal, consultative and relationship building skills in order to initiate and develop productive collaborative partnership with all levels of leadership across the organization. Ability to effectively influence results, garner support and tactfully manage complex relationships within and across the organization. Extremely high level of diplomacy and tact are required. Ability to read the subtle nuances of situation and react/plan accordingly.
Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
