Job Title: Senior IT Security Architect FLSA: Exempt

Department: Info Tech

General Function:

The Senior IT Security Architect leads the strategic direction and execution of the organization's security infrastructure. This role goes beyond implementation, focusing on shaping the long-term security vision to mitigate risks in a rapidly evolving threat landscape. Leveraging advanced expertise in Network Security, Endpoint Security, Cloud Security, and Identity Access Management (IAM), the Senior IT Security Architect ensures enterprise-wide protection and compliance.

Accountable and Reports to: VP, Chief Information Security Officer

Direct Reports: None

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, deployment and documentation of advanced, scalable security architectures across network, endpoint, cloud, and IAM domains, aligning with organizational goals.

  • Develop enterprise-wide security strategies and roadmaps, ensuring proactive risk mitigation and compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct and assist with security audits and penetration tests, identifying critical vulnerabilities and driving remediation efforts.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing expert guidance on emerging threats, security investments, and technology adoption.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure security is an integral part of IT systems, applications, and business operations.

  • Mentor and coach staff, fostering a culture of security awareness and best practices across the organization.

  • Continuously evaluate and implement cutting-edge security technologies and solutions to stay ahead of evolving cyber threats.

  • Represent the organization in external security forums and contribute to industry-wide discussions on cybersecurity advancements.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • 5-10 years of experience in IT security architecture.

  • Expertise in Network Security, Endpoint Security, Cloud Security, and IAM.

  • Strong knowledge of security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST CSF 2.0).

  • Experience with security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, SIEM, DLP, VPN).

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH) are a plus

  • Physical Requirements:

  • Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near range with or without correction.

  • Must be physically able to perform sedentary work: operating a computer, occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 10 pounds, and occasionally standing or walking.

  • Must be able to perform the following physical activities: meeting with customers, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
