Full Time Cook We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Nutritional Services Department!
Day Shift Cook
The day shift cook is accountable for providing all aspects of patient meal service. This individual is responsible for the preparation of hot and cold menu items for patient and cafeteria meals. The cook is expected to have a fundamental understanding of prescribed diet information and food allergy protocols.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, obtaining patient meal orders, assembling trays, communicating prescribed diets, serving customers, receiving and putting away vendor orders, and other kitchen related tasks.
All Nutritional Services Workers must proficiently complete all required documentation and abide by all sanitation and food safety standards.
It is vital to demonstrate exceptional service delivery to all clients at all times.
Hours: Hours are typically 0600-1430 Monday-Friday with every other weekend rotation. However, hours may vary based on staffing needs.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in food preparation and sanitation is preferred, but not required.
Knowledge of foods and preparation methods.
Ability to follow a standardized recipe and practice portion control.
Ability to understand regular and modified diets and use a menu as reference.
Healthcare food service experience preferred.
