Job Summary
The Sub Assembly (SA) Programmer must be able to efficiently program and oversee equipment used in the area, including SMT (Surface Mount Technology) Line (ASM), conformal coat and selective solder machines, and board wash machines. The SA Programmer will also assist with preventive maintenance, provide real time program troubleshooting, and communicate fixturing needs. This will include working with equipment vendors and industrial engineering to maximize equipment availability. Accomplishes various production assembly functions that are somewhat complicated in nature. They may perform assembly duties as needed. This includes assembling products or sub-assemblies according to verbal or written instructions, or by following drawings or diagrams.
Essential Functions
Program equipment for new parts or for changes to existing parts.
Verify that the finished product meets quality standards, as designated on the drawings
Determines the sequence of operations needed to safely and efficiently manufacture a quality product
Create supporting documents to assist with future operations
Perform preventive maintenance and assist with machine issues/repairs
Must be able to closely work with engineering on design/documentation issues and recommend improvements for manufacturability and quality
Uses problem solving skills to recommend changes in processes related to the design, programming and manufacturability of quality parts and fixtures
Maintain documentation folders on the network
Ability to flexible work hours in order to minimize programming time on production
Provides support to Sub Assembly Leads regarding programming issues and status, fixture status and new technologies
Maintains accurate production records
Operates tools and production equipment
Inspects electronics according to product specifications
The SA programmer will support Sub Assembly team when needed, which may include soldering, building cables, and coating surfaces of circuit boards
Conforms with ESD policy, safety practices, and ISO procedures
Basic Qualification
Must be a US Person (US Citizen, person granted US Permanent Resident Card or any individual who is granted status as a "protected person”)
Associate degree in Manufacturing Technology or equivalent work experience
Two years of operations/programming experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- includes physical requirements
Must be able to see objects with small details
Performs assembly at a work bench and in standing positions
Knowledge in various machine automation preferred
