STEVENS EROSION CONTROL Snow Removal Laborers in Hills, Iowa

Stevens Erosion Control, Inc. is looking to fill Snow Removal Laborers positions inJohnson and near by counties:Muscatine,Johnson, Jefferson, Lee, Des Moines, Louisa, Cedar, Mahaska, and Henryin Iowa. This is a temporary, full-time seasonal position and we are looking to fill 10 job openings for employment from November 17, 2024 to March 25, 2025.

Duties: Laborersneeded for snow removal, must be available on call for snow removal at commercial and residential property locations. Laborers/helpers will use a shovel and snowblower, and ice melt spreader. Shifts will depend on the time and amount of the snowfall.

Lift up to 50 lbs. Other duties as needed: leaf removal, load/unload materials for grounds maintenance, de-icing, removal of snow from walks, driveways and parking lots. Laborers may drive vehicle.

This position is for 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, however may vary days or times to accommodate inclement weather.Overtime is available as needed, not guaranteed.

Requirements: Workers must be available to work weekends if needed. The Laborers/Helpers are required to have driver's license Class C to drive provided transportation between the worksites. No prior education or experience required.

Terms and Conditions of Employment:

$18/hr, Monday-Friday 8am-4pm depending on weather conditions, and a must be available weekends. Overtime wagerate $27. Workers needed to begin work 11/17/24-3/25/25. Work will be done in multiple work-sites in following counties:Henry, Lee, Des Moines, Louisa, Muscatine, Cedar, Jefferson, Iowa, Johnson and Mahaska counties.

Transportation: From the place from which the worker has come to work, whether in the U.S. or abroad, to the place of employment, if the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will provide advance payment for transportation and subsistence (including meals and, to the extent necessary lodging) from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $15.88/day during travel to a maximum of $59/day day with receipts.

Three-fourths guarantee: The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment

period.

Tools, equipment and supplies: The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job.

Miscellaneous: The employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages and pay by-weekly by check. The employer will make all payroll deductions

required by law. The employer will reimburse an H-2B worker in the first work week for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker.
