Buchanan County Health Center Radiologic Technologist in Independence, Iowa
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The technical skills and responsibilities of the staff radiographer are directed towards the production of a wide variety of diagnostic procedures. Under the direction of a radiologist, functions at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Works closely with other radiographers and ancillary personnel to provide direct patient care and diagnostic exams. Produces radiographs using techniques to ensure optimal images with lowest possible radiation to the patient. This position requires independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to function with limited supervision while interacting with both the patient and other medical staff. May have individual responsibility for specified diagnostic procedures or the management of a designated procedure room.
EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Must be certified by the state of Iowa and be registered by ARRT, or registry eligible.
