Robert Half is assisting an agriculture client in search of a Staff Accountant. Location: Central Iowa (commutable from Ames and Iowa Falls, IA)

Join a dynamic, multi-entity operations company managing private equity investments in agricultural ventures. The organization owns and operates multiple entities requiring robust financial management, auditing, and reporting.

Position Summary:

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant with a background in agriculture to oversee financial operations for multiple entities. This position is pivotal in ensuring accurate financial reporting, audit readiness, and efficient operations across all accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage monthly financial statements for multiple entities.

  • Perform month-end closings, including journal entries and reconciliations.

  • Maintain and adjust accruals to ensure accurate financial reporting.

  • Coordinate and prepare quarterly reports and year-end financial audits.

  • Handle random entries, adjustments, and other financial-related activities as needed.

  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to streamline auditing processes.

  • Support the team with ad hoc financial projects and reporting needs.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Agriculture-related fields with accounting coursework.

  • Experience:

  • Previous accounting experience, preferably in multi-entity operations or the agricultural sector.

  • Familiarity with financial software and accounting systems.

  • Strong knowledge of accrual accounting and GAAP principles.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • Attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities effectively
