Honeywell Field Service Engineer I in Iowa, Iowa

As a Field Service Engineer I here at Honeywell, you will responsible for effectively providing services to support the on-site installation, upgrades, start-up, maintenance, and operation of automation control systems & advanced manufacturing software applications, drive systems, manufacturing systems, industrial networks and the individual products which comprise these systems.

You will focus on providing customers with maintenance and modernization services on Honeywell’s EPKS/DCS (80% of the time) and QCS (20% of the time) Platforms. The role requires you to be self-supporting and includes on-site maintenance, performing system diagnostics & analysis, troubleshooting problems, installing new systems & replacing parts.

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Connecticut, and Hawaii is $73,000 - $ 91,300. For Washington and most major metropolitan areas in New York & California, the annual base salary range is $73,000 - $ 91,300. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide ongoing support for Honeywell control systems installed at the customer sites throughout the mid-west.

  • Handle customer service-related issues while fostering the customer relationship and working to solve technical problems on site.

  • Deal directly with and communicate effectively with plant operators, plant management, 3rd party vendors and other

  • Honeywell personnel in support of service operations.

  • Collaborate with Honeywell's Global Technical Assistance Center to implement solutions for the installed base where applicable.

  • Perform scheduled maintenance and ad-hoc work on Honeywell hardware and software following procedures and schedules.

  • Troubleshoot and analyze issues under both normal and abnormal conditions.

  • When required, play an active role in various projects such as upgrades, new installations or new functionality for customers.

  • Work with contractors to review and ensure the unit/package is installed to specifications.

  • Coordinate work with other groups to ensure meeting commitments.

  • Ensure regular updates of antivirus software across all Honeywell EPKS customer sites.

  • Ensure regular Windows OS updates across all Honeywell EPKS customer sites.

  • Perform standby duties and respond to callouts as required by procedure.

  • Create and maintain backups for servers and workstations.

  • Sustain proficiency in all products and services that the company offers. This includes staying current with installation

  • standard methodologies, equipment protocol, and safety guidelines.

  • Support plant outages for Honeywell EPKS customer sites.

  • Support machine outages for Honeywell QCS customer sites.

  • Provide on-site pre-start-up, start-up, contracted service work, warranty, troubleshooting, and training of Honeywell products, and ensure equipment is operational and free of defects.

  • Accurately document the work that is performed at a customer facility and/or project staging area. Professionally document work completed on periodic preventive maintenance as well as intermittent corrective maintenance tasks.

  • Complete monthly preventative system maintenance checklists on time.

  • Prepare monthly reports using Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Review product prints and specifications.

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • High School Diploma

  • Continuously pass customer’s background checks and random drug testing.

  • 1 year of professional experience in an engineering or technical field/and or Military experience in electronics programs may be considered equivalent to this typical qualification.

  • Valid driver's license

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to walk and stand 8 hours per day.

  • 1 year of experience using Basic Windows OS and Microsoft Office applications

  • Be able to perform frequent climbing, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping.

  • Knowledge of system installation, configuration, and maintenance.

  • Understanding of electrical and mechanical systems where Honeywell technology is installed will be an added advantage.

  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software.

  • Engineering or technical fields may include field service, technical operations, industrial maintenance, process automation, heavy manufacturing, prior military experience, development and/or reliability engineering, etc.

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.

  • Commitment to obtain and maintain L3 CEAT certification within 18 months of hire (Training is given to achieve this)

  • Experience with industrial process control field instrumentation.

  • Networking experience.

  • Previous experience working in a Field Service Technician position.

  • Previous technical/installation experience.

  • Previous customer service experience.

  • Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills; capable of learning available analysis tools to solve complex system or process problems.
