Corteva Agriscience Senior Experimental Data Research Analyst in Johnston, Iowa
Description
We are seeking an innovative, driven, personable, and experienced Analyst who will be a collaborative teammate and a strategic leader. You will work with creative and talented team members who will share in your passion to exceed in developing robust and innovative solutions for complex research problems globally for Corteva R&D.
Responsibilities - What you will do
Requirements Discovery and Analysis: Elicit software requirements by collaborating closely with project stakeholders and subject matter experts.
Business Alignment: Ensure the software product and the development plan align with R&D strategy. Assist the software product owner in prioritizing features.
User-centered Design Process: Drive the detailed project definition by interviewing users, developing business personas, documenting business process flow, and creating application wireframes.
System Definition: Define system requirements and collaborate with the team's solution architect to design the software and data solution.
Stakeholder Communication: Communicate complex technical information to a variety of project stakeholders and team members in a clear and concise manner
Agile Project Leadership: Facilitate project ceremonies and process improvement for the software development team.
Application Validation and Testing: Collaborate with subject-matter experts and QA professionals to ensure alignment of test cases with requirements and to facilitate user acceptance testing.
Qualifications
Key Qualifications - What you will bring
Required qualifications:
B.S. in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Statistics, Computer Science or related field or 8-10 years of relevant experience in these areas.
Knowledge of field-based practices for experiments of Corteva seed and crop protection products.
Statistical Data Analysis: Understanding of basic statistics and their application to field-based breeding experiments of hybrid & varietal crops.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex systems, data flows, and requirements. This includes understanding RESTful API endpoints, service interface specifications, data models, and integration points.
Knowledge of cloud computing and related concepts especially for Amazon Web Services (AWS) including S3, Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, and Batch.
Experience applying single-page architecture for full stack web application development
Proficiency in SQL for querying databases and analyzing data. Capable of working with large amounts of complex data and analyses.
Understanding of data structures and relationships in databases and API design.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, interdepartmental software development teams, and business partners
Able to handle conflicts and approach negotiations in a diplomatic but confident manner
Possess excellent requirements elicitation and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
A confident speaker; able to articulate messages well in small to medium size groups
A keen sense of translating the work back to the business value derived
Experience in strategy development and strategic leadership in R&D or business environments
Proficient with project management and documentation tools such as Jira and Confluence
Additional desired qualifications:
Understanding of software development best practices, systems development lifecycle, and enterprise architecture principles
Previous experience prioritizing and breaking down complex requests into small chunks
The ability to be comfortable with the unknown, ask questions, be inquisitive, be a self-starter
Ability to dive in, position yourself for success by building relationships, learning quickly, and trying new things
