Description:
The Madrid Community School District is actively seeking a PK-12 school nurse to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year. We offer a positive school culture and a supportive community located just outside the Ames, Ankeny, and Des Moines areas.

Requirements:
- Registered Nurse with valid Iowa Licensure.
- CPR and Mandatory Child Abuse Certifications.
- Either experience as a school nurse or a desire to transition into the rewarding field of school nursing and a passion to work with students, staff and families.
- Provide healthcare for PK-12 grade students, exhibit ability to collaborate with colleagues, and communicate with students, staff, and parents.
- Participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the school health program
- Ability to teach high school students DMACC dual-enrollment Health Occupation courses on site is desired but not required. The District may provide an option to reimburse part or allcoursework costs needed to obtain an appropriate endorsement. The district will provide mentoring and additional support for any teaching responsibilities.
- Strong delegation and communication skills.
- Highly motivated, flexible, and enthusiastic about working with students.
- Such qualifications as required by Iowa Law, the Department of Education and the Board of Education.
- The school nurse contract is 193 days, including five paid holidays and breaks that match the school academic calendar.
