Our client, a leading company in the food production industry, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will oversee and maintain the mechanical production operation equipment with a key focus on preventative maintenance. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of maintenance experience and a strong preventative maintenance background. This is a contract to hire opportunity.

Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Location: Ames, IA

Pay Range: $22-$28 per hour

Hours: 6:00am-4:00pm, M-F, with weekends and call-ins as needed

What’s the Job?

1. Maintain equipment through an effective maintenance program to meet production goals.

2. Coordinate activities within the premix plant to gain efficient production of finished products.

3. Plan and execute an efficient maintenance program to ensure minimization of downtime due to equipment failures.

4. Plan and coordinate deliveries of raw materials to ensure continued production of finished materials.

5. Enforce compliance with SHE / Quality, cGMPs, ISO, work processes, and other rules and regulations.

What’s Needed?

1. High School education or equivalent and five years of experience, skilled degree preferred.

2. Knowledge in mechanical, electrical, operational, and welding.

3. Experience using preventative maintenance software for logging, tracking and tracing tickets.

4. Understanding of OSHA, SHE & Quality & Security standards.

5. Willingness to work overtime as needed to keep production going. Infrequent weekend work.
