Emerson Manufacturing Design Engineer - Pressure Testing in Marshalltown, Iowa

Flexible Work Schedule – Remote Work Option

This role has the flexibility of a remote work option up to three days a week. Our teams work together to ensure our chosen work schedules enable our creativity and productivity as we serve the needs of our customers

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Design hydrostatic pressure testing equipment to support assembly & Operations

  • Develop complex tooling, jigs, fixtures, gauging, and facilities equipment using 3D CAD software, ensuring safety and effectiveness.

  • Involves analyzing requirements and designing items to carry out desired purpose safely.

  • Investigate manufacturing problems to find root cause using a structured methodology and implement solutions.

  • Mentor tool design co-ops by providing challenging projects and training in Emerson procedures, software, and manufacturing practices.

Who You Are:

You excel in balancing planning with action and effectively communicating across various settings, whether one-on-one or in diverse groups. You establish relationships across teams and uncover the root causes of complex problems.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • BS Engineering, Industrial Technology, or similar in a manufacturing related field

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Office 365, and SharePoint

  • Verbal and written technical communication skills

  • CAD skills

  • Ability to read and analyze engineering drawings and details

  • Basic Statics and Strengths of Materials Knowledge

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Co-op, internship, or professional experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

  • Knowledge and application of functional gauging and measuring instruments.

  • Understands material properties and behavior, and stress-strain analysis to supplement FEA via SolidWorks.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing process capabilities.

  • SolidWorks and AutoCAD skills preferred.

  • Problem solving skills with structured methods.

  • Familiarity with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code
