Radiology- MRI Assistant PRN (as needed) varied hours
JOB SUMMARY
The MRI assistant helps to provide assistance to the technologists in the MRI department as needed to improve the workflow and patient experience. This role focuses primarily on transporting patients, greeting patients, pre-procedure phone calls, preparing orders, and activities of the daily workflow. The MRI assistant performs receptionist, secretarial, housekeeping, and restocking duties and serves as communication liaison in the department
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education [formal]:
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Prior patient care experience preferred.
Medical terminology helpful, but not required.
Experience: Basic computer skill required. Special Skills and Competencies: Ability to prioritize multiple orders or requests in a rapid and accurate manner to provide timely service. Must have excellent customer service skills. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with other hospital personnel and patients. Must be able to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction. Possesses organizational skills to prioritize duties.
Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Healthcare Provider, American Heart Association; or American Red Cross, Professional Rescuer-LIVE class only) via current card prior to employment or within 60 days of hire and maintains current status.
Completes Mandatory Reporting: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse requirement within 6 months of hire and renews this requirement every 3 years.
