About The Job:

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) Training Program is a temporary position for colleagues hired into the PCT Training Program without experience or training as a Certified Nursing Assistant. The PCT Training Program is 75 hours in length, inclusive of classroom, skills lab and clinical hours.

Under direct supervision, the PCT in training will assist the clinical staff in the provision of patient care. These duties may vary by shift or may be unit-specific. The PCT in training is trained in the provision of care for patients of diverse ages. Adheres to the principles of Service Excellence Guiding Behaviors and the philosophy and mission of MercyOne Siouxland in all aspects of job performance.

What we are looking for:

-Must be 16 years of age. Acceptance into the Patient Care Technician training program.

-Must successfully complete the PCT Training Program with time frame identified in job offer.

-Must attend each class in full to successfully complete the PCT Training Program.

-Is able to communicate effectively with all members of the health care team.

-Is able to perform a variety of duties characterized by frequent change.

-Must have a general working knowledge of computers and department specific software (i.e. Healthstream, internet, etc.)

-Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.

-Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of MercyOne North Iowa and Trinity Health.
