Our Curries brand is looking to add a Quality Technician - Paint Inspector to our team. This will be an on-site role position out of our Mason City, Iowa manufacturing facility.

What would you do as our Quality Technician – Paint Inspector?

You will be responsible for conducting 100% visual and dimensional inspections to support our doors and frames paint inspection process. This includes performing non-destructive testing, identifying product with proper labelling e.g. ULB fire labels and identifying non-conforming product while taking proper steps for containment.

You would also:

  • Collect and record data to support defect tracking and historical analysis.

  • Cross train with red carpet inspection to meet departmental needs.

  • Utilize electronic systems to support inspections: I-Series, Microsoft Office.

  • Assist production in solving product quality problems by leading or helping with any containment actions and identifies product to support the rework/remake process.

  • Assist Team Leaders ro support quality systems requirements.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations and in accordance with 5S practices.

  • Actively participate in providing a safe and harmonious working environment for all employees

  • Comply and enforce compliance of all state and federal regulations, Company standards and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct

    The Skills and Experience you need :

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Ability to use gauging instruments including hardness tester.

  • Understanding of visual standards and customer requirements.

  • American Society Quality (ASQ), Quality Technician Certification or any a dditional technical training or certification in Quality Control is preferred.

  • Previous knowledge of Quality Management Systems is preferred

  • Door and/or Frame manufacturing experience is preferred.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.

  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office, I-Series, and Thrive.

  • This position requires standing and/or walking for an entire shift.
