Description:

Position Purpose:

The Respiratory Therapy Assistant provides support to respiratory therapists in treating pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Under the direction of a registered respiratory therapist, this position is responsible for supporting respiratory therapists with their equipment/supply needs, work lists, workload data, and administering electrocardiogram tests.

What you will Do:

  • Supports respiratory therapists with their equipment/supplies needs, work lists, and workload data.

  • Supports information management and data entry for department billing.

  • Performs 12 lead electrocardiograms when clinic tech is not available.

  • Responsible for delivering varied oxygen devices on a timely basis.

  • Performs hospital-wide rounds on a daily basis to monitor and provide service to patients using respiratory support devices.

  • Provides information management and data entry assistance for department billing and quality audit records.

Hours/Schedule:

Full Time; 36 hours/week; Evening Shift

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • CAPR and N95 fit testing validation within 30 days of hire required.

  • Must be able to learn and perform CPR.

  • Must have excellent customer service skills.

  • Must have the skill to prioritize multiple assignments.

  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with other hospital personnel and patients.

  • Must provide proof of Basic Life Support ( BLS Provider -American Heart Association or Professional Rescuer-American Red Cross) prior to employment or within 30 days of hire and maintains current status.

  • Must provide proof of Mandatory Reporting for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse training prior to employment or within 6 months of hire and maintain current status.
