General Description

Job summary: The teacher will prayerfully help students develop and mature in mind, body and soul to the praise and glory of God. Support the broader program of the school by attending extracurricular activities when possible. Have the ability to cultivate a love for God's truth, deliver engaging academics, practice a life of worship, pursue academic and personal excellence, and foster wholeness in relationships. Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the administration.

Type of position: Full-time, contracted, exempt employee that is paid on a salaried basis. Also seeking part-time, paid on hourly basis.

Required Spiritual Qualities

It is expected that the Teacher will....

  • Demonstrate a desire for spiritual growth as evidenced by his or her prayer life, Bible study, and spiritual outreach to others.
  • Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions toward others (Luke 6:40). This includes being committed to God's biblical standards for sexual conduct.
  • Have a conviction that God has led him or her to Christian school ministry.

Required Professional Qualities

It is expected that the Teacher will....

  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree.
  • Hold the ACSI certification or be willing to obtain it upon employment.
  • Possess evidence of other adequate preparation, background, or experience as determined by the school administrator.

It is expected that the Teacher will

  • Have the spiritual maturity, academic ability, and personal leadership qualities to train a child in the way he should go (Prov. 22:6, NIV).
  • Be an enthusiastic visionary, an encourager, and a self-starter with a high energy level.
  • Have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the Christian philosophy that will help in providing leadership and guidance in the school's development of and commitment to a Christian worldview.
  • Reflect the purpose of the school, which is to develop students who desire to love God and others, and are academically prepared for God's unique plan for their lives.
  • Represent the school in a favorable and professional manner to the school's constituency and the general public.
