Job Title - Commercial Carpentry Framer

Location: Des Moines, Iowa

Schedule: Monday - Friday / 7:00 am - 4:00 pm

Job-Type: Full-time / Weekly Pay / $22-$30 hr. starting wage & benefits

Overview: Currently seeking to hire an experienced Commercial Carpentry Framer to be responsible for constructing and assembling the framework of commercial buildings, ensuring precision and adherence to building codes and project specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of framing techniques and a dedication to quality craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Framing Construction: Build and install structural frameworks for commercial buildings, including walls, floors, and roof systems using wood or metal studs.

  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret construction blueprints and technical drawings to determine project requirements and dimensions.

  • Material Preparation: Measure, cut, and assemble framing materials accurately, ensuring alignment and structural integrity.

  • Structural Integrity: Ensure all framing work is performed according to safety standards and building codes, making adjustments as needed.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with other carpenters, contractors, and construction professionals to coordinate tasks and ensure project milestones are met.

  • Tool and Equipment Use: Operate and maintain hand and power tools, such as saws, drills, and nail guns, safely and efficiently.

  • Problem Solving: Identify and address any issues or discrepancies in the framing process, making necessary adjustments to ensure a high-quality finished product.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: At least 2 proven years of experience within commercial carpentry framing or related field.

  • Skills: Proficiency in framing techniques, blueprint reading, and material handling.

  • Certifications: Relevant carpentry or construction certifications are a plus.

  • Physical Fitness: Ability to lift heavy materials, work at heights, and perform physically demanding tasks.

  • Team Player: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a positive attitude towards teamwork.
