Wage: $20.00-$25.00/hr (based on experience and qualifications)

Job Summary:

The Safety Administrative Assistant will be responsible for monitoring and documenting all necessary paperwork in compliance with OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and DNR agencies. The Safety Administrative Assistant will be responsible for coordinating the new hire onboarding process.The Safety Administrative Assistant is a full-time position that reports to the Safety Director and has no supervisory responsibility.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Management and maintenance of driver compliance files as required by state and federal DOT agencies.

  • Review and process invoices related to safety activites.

  • Ensure compliance with all environmental health and safety standards promulgated by local, state, federal, and environmental agencies through the development of on-site assessments and monitoring programs. Including but not limited to inspections, permitting, and reporting.

  • Perform and coordinate company and federally regulated drug testing.

  • Provide employees with the knowledge and resources necessary for environmental health and safety awareness by coordinating continued educational classes.

  • Complete new hire orientation, drug testing, and assist with arranging post-offer pre-work screens.

  • Assist with the development of employee injury and accident prevention programs, monitor program effectiveness, and make program adjustments as necessary.

  • Develop, implement, and enforce environmental health and safety protocols through proper documentation.

  • Operation of Microsoft programs (i.e. Teams, Excell, & Word) and other related company equipment and software.

  • Work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

  • Maintain and communicate Compliance Safety Accountability (CSA) results to the field and leadership team.

  • Team player mentality and eagerness to cross-train.

  • Willingness to perform duties outside the normal scope of work as this job description is non-exhaustive.

Position Requirements:

  • Consent to Motor Vehicle Record request, and drug test.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

  • OSHA, MSHA, DNR, and DOT knowledge and experience.

  • Knowledge of environmental compliance is preferred.

  • Experience in construction and manufacturing industries.

  • Self-starter with strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Understand instructions from supervisory positions, both written and verbal forms.

  • Possess excellent communication skills.

  • Dependability and reliability by showing up to scheduled shifts on time and being prepared for work.

  • A positive attitude is critical to ensure productive working relationships with co-workers and management.

  • Overnight travel is not standard but may be required.
