Description:

Cleans and maintains all assigned areas of the hospital in a sanitary and attractive manner in accordance with required accreditation and industry standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Assembles necessary cleaning supplies and equipment and transports to designated work area.

  • Cleans assigned areas in accordance with accreditation and industry standards. Tasks include, but not limited to, cleaning walls, floors, dusting, buffing, polishing, scrubbing, moving furniture, waste removal, laundry/linen duties and other tasks as directed.

  • Cleans and maintains equipment.

  • Maintains good relationships with patients, visitors and colleagues.

  • Plans and utilizes time well.

  • Uses initiative in performing duties.

  • Demonstrates professional attitude and behavior by maintaining acceptable work habits including, but not limited to, dependability, punctuality, and appropriate behaviors.

  • Assumes responsibility for own professional growth and continuing education by attending all department meetings, completing learning modules and reading all applicable e-mails or other communications.

  • Maintains strict confidentiality regarding patient, employee, and hospital matters

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Ability to consistently meet the department work schedule.

  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing and be able to follow instructions.

  • Must have manual and physical ability to perform such tasks as general cleaning, terminal cleaning, linens and waste removal.
