Indian Hills Community College Data Analyst Associate in Ottumwa, Iowa

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Director, Institutional Research & Assessment, the Data Analyst Associate will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of institutional research work for the college. They will work independently to perform data analyst functions such as data import/export, data cleaning, system maintenance, data analysis, surveys and troubleshooting.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree in Data or Business Analytics, Computer or Data Science, Computer Software Development, Statistics/Mathematics, Social Sciences, or a related field required. Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technology.

  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel.

  • Experience in statistical analysis preferred.

  • Experience working in an educational setting preferred.

    Work Performed:

  • Work with large, complex data sets, including exporting/importing from various sources, cleaning data files and maintaining historical records.

  • Gather data and perform statistical analysis incorporated from federal, state and regional reports.

  • Maintain multiple profiles term by term for the institution, divisions, academics, co-curricular programs and special populations.

  • Gather, transform and maintain data in easily understandable tables and charts.

  • Understand and utilize relational databases and/or structured data.

  • Accurately maintain assessment management software, including tasks such as: data export/import, data cleaning, and updating active and inactive records. Update and maintain modules accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Perform troubleshooting within the assessment management software beta testing system.

  • Understand and conduct qualitative and quantitative research.

  • Demonstrate problem solving and appropriately determine required level of data analysis.

  • Create and maintain surveys using high quality survey design, implementation and assessment.

  • Ensure data integrity is maintained in all work.

  • Utilize available training and resources to upskill and enhance performance.

  • Assist in furthering the research agenda and the college.

  • Assist in grant program evaluation and data compliance maintenance.

  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance at work.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule:

Up to 20 hours per week. Remote work may be available after the probationary period
