Secondary Math Teacher
The Pekin Community School District is seeking a Math Teacher for 7th and 8th grades for the 2024-2025 school year.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions
- Demonstrates the ability to enhance academic performance.
- Demonstrates competence in content knowledge appropriate to the teaching position.
- Demonstrates competence in planning and preparing for instruction.
- Uses strategies to deliver instruction that meets the multiple learning needs of students.
- Uses effective classroom management strategies.
- Works collaboratively with other educational and community professionals.
- Engages in professional growth.
- Attends work on a consistent and punctual basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Valid Iowa teaching license
and any of the following endorsements:
- 5-12 Mathematics - 143
- 5 - 8 Middle School Mathematics - 1822
The ideal applicant will be a subject matter expert in the teaching area, proficient in the use of student achievement data to guide instruction, able to openly and honestly collaborate with peers, able to use technology to present high quality student instruction, and committed to maximizing the learning potential of all students.
