Job Title: Lab Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to operate and monitor production and seed fermenter growth. You will be responsible for maintaining daily records of cultures and media, performing routine sterility checks, and using laboratory equipment such as microscopes, centrifuges, pumps, and scales. This role involves harvesting bacterial cultures, performing scale-up production of Leptospirae cultures, conducting in-process sampling, and ensuring cleanliness of production rooms and lab equipment.
Responsibilities
Operate and monitor production and seed fermenter growth
Monitor seed flask growth
Maintain daily records of all cultures and media
Perform routine sterility checks according to batch record standards
Utilize laboratory equipment such as microscopes, centrifuges, pumps, and scales
Harvest bacterial cultures
Perform scale-up production of Leptospirae cultures
Conduct in-process sampling at interval stages of growth production
Perform weekly cleaning of production rooms
Perform pre and post process cleaning of labs
Clean and disinfect lab equipment
Sterilize fermentation equipment
Prepare and sterilize media for bacteria growth
Assemble and sanitize concentration systems
Use hollow fiber concentration systems
Clean and sanitize concentration systems
Use other filtration systems
Essential Skills
Knowledge in Biology, Microbiology, Aseptic techniques, and Fermentation
Experience with laboratory equipment and procedures
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Microbiology, Animal Science, or related biotechnology field preferred
Previous lab experience preferred
Excellent organizational skills
Proficient in oral and written communication
Intermediate ability with Microsoft Office Suite, Internet Software, and E-mail
Ability to troubleshoot errors and mechanical problems
Ability to perform aseptic hand filling operations and gown sterilely
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.50 - $20.50
