Entry Level Water Quality Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Water Quality Technician to join our team at a prominent aluminum and steel manufacturing plant. This role involves working in the ATL department, primarily focusing on the wastewater part of the plant. The technician will ensure that the water entering and leaving the plant meets environmental safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee well water filters and change them as needed

  • Take water quality readings and switch valves

  • Test and analyze water quality data

  • Document information into the software system

  • Communicate status updates with plant managers

  • Complete lockout/tagout procedures

  • Calibrate probes and process equipment

Essential Skills

  • Knowledge of process flow and water treatment

  • Understanding of environmental and water quality standards

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Availability to work either 1st or 3rds. Positions hours run on a (2on-2off-3on-3off 6AM-6PM or 6PM-6PM)

Work Environment

The work environment is an aluminum and steel manufacturing plant, where the technician will need to wear provided boots and jeans. The team consists of about 15 members on-site, but the technician will often work independently. The work schedule depends on the operation of the plant's machines, requiring flexibility and self-motivation during downtime.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Riverdale, Iowa.
