Aventure Staffing Director of Food Ministry in Sioux City, Iowa
Director of Food Ministry | $44,000+ Salary, Depending on Experience
Monday – Friday 7am – 5pm (would need to be able to work some weekends)
A Siouxland non-denominational Christian ministry who has served the community for over 80 years is searching for a Director of Food Ministry to join their team! The Director of Food Ministry oversees food programs, including shelter and community meals, as well as food pantry services. This role integrates Christian outreach into food service, manages staff and volunteers, and maintains relationships with food vendors and donors. Must be willing to sign a statement of Faith, a statement of Marriage and Sexuality, and be a member of a local Bible believing church.
Responsibilities:
Oversee daily meal preparation and service, ensuring quality and safety.
Provides a Christian example of compassion, care, empathy, and customer service to all persons involved in the Food Ministry.
Develop and implement policies for kitchen operations and food storage.
Supervise food pantry operations, ensuring nutritious offerings and managing donations.
Manage staff and volunteers who assist customers.
Manage the flow of food items to assure variety of safe & nutritious foods
Collaborate with leadership on budgeting and resource management.
Provide training and mentorship to staff and volunteers.
Requirements:
Sign a statement of Faith, and Marriage and Sexuality Statement
A member of a local Bible believing church
Valid driver’s license
MS 365, Word, and Excel skills
High School Diploma or equivalent
3-5 years experience in food service
Preferred Associates/Bachelors - customer service related field
Ability to lift 30-50 lbs and travel up/down stairs
Treat all guest with dignity and respect while being sensitive to diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds
