Description:

Under direct supervision, the Nursing Assistant is responsible for assisting with direct patient care as well as other work on the unit, which supports the patient environment. Work will include components of direct patient care, nutrition, observation, documentation, transportation, and general maintenance of the patient environment.

What you will Do

  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide service/care appropriate to the age of the patients served, in accordance withMercyOne standards.

  • Prioritizes components of an in-depth assessment to determine patients’ holistic health status on an ongoing basis.

  • Utilizing the nursing process effectively identifies actual and potential problems and develops/carries out the plan of care for the complex patient; specific to the age of patient population identified within the department/unit scope of service, in accordance with the department/unit standards.

  • Provides concurrent, accurate, and legible documentation on the medical record consistent with hospital policies.

  • Implements nursing intervention and adapts care based on changes in patient condition, consultation with other professionals, and patient/family needs.

  • Promotes and maintains a safe and calm environment for complex patients by ensuring appropriate supplies, equipment, and necessary services.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates or Bachelors prepared RN

  • RN with active license

  • Have or obtain Basic Life Support within 3 months of employment
