Spencer Hospital is a rural hospital located in northwest Iowa employing over 500+ employees. Positions at Spencer Hospital are not affiliated with Avera; however, we collaborate to provide services to the communities we serve. Employment offers, if accepted, are exclusively with Spencer Hospital.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care in the ICU

  • Assumes the responsibility for the outcome of nursing care during a specified work period

  • Collaborates with all available nursing personnel to provide total patient care

  • Must have knowledge of and utilize appropriate age-related patient protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of patients

Requirements:

  • Must be a caring communicator, flexible, able to multitask and be comfortable with technological systems

  • IA RN license

  • BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC are required - inhouse education available upon hire

  • One year of Medical/Surgical preferred or critical care experience

  • New grads with a strong desire for critical care are encouraged to apply

Schedule:

  • 72 hours a pay period

  • Straight nights or day/night rotation - self scheduling

  • 12 hour shifts 6:30p-7a, 6:30a-7p

  • The schedule may fluctuate based upon the needs of the department

Sign-On:

  • $10,000 sign-on paid out over 2 years

  • $5,000 additional sign-on for straight nights paid out over 2 years

  • Bonuses may be contingent on your status, position, and active employment with Spencer Hospital
