As we move toward the next phase of our business, we are seeking a strategic and hands-on Controller who can integrate operations, manage change effectively, and drive financial initiatives that will help us scale.

Position Summary:

The Controller will be a key leadership team member responsible for managing all aspects of financial operations and ensuring the company’s financial health during this growth phase. This role requires a strong financial acumen, experience in scaling small to mid-sized businesses, and proven skills in change management. The Controller will act as the Integrator across various departments, ensuring seamless alignment between strategy and execution, while also fostering a culture of efficiency and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Leadership:

Lead all aspects of financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.

Provide strategic financial advice to the executive team and support key decision-making to drive growth.

Oversee accounting functions (AP, AR, payroll, tax, and audit) to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

Scaling & Strategy:

Develop and implement financial systems, processes, and policies that support rapid growth.

Identify opportunities for cost optimization, revenue enhancement, and financial control improvements.

Support long-term financial planning to align with the company’s strategic goals for scaling.

Change Management:

Serve as a change agent by helping the company transition through growth, restructuring, or process improvements.

Develop and execute change management strategies to ensure smooth implementation of new financial systems, tools, and practices.

Collaborate across departments to identify and address potential resistance to change and ensure team alignment.

Integrator Role:

Act as a bridge between various departments (sales, operations, HR, etc.), ensuring financial objectives are aligned with company goals.

Lead cross-functional projects that require financial expertise and operational insights.

Promote teamwork and effective communication between departments to ensure cohesive strategy execution.

Financial Reporting & Compliance:

Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Manage relationships with external auditors, tax professionals, and other financial consultants.

Stay up-to-date on industry trends, accounting regulations, and best practices.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).

5+ years of experience in financial management or controller roles, preferably in a small business environment.

Proven experience in scaling a business, with a track record of implementing financial systems and processes that support growth.

Demonstrated expertise in change management, with the ability to lead organizational transformations and optimize workflows.

Strong communication and leadership skills, with a focus on collaboration and integration across departments.

Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems, with advanced Excel skills.

Ability to think strategically while maintaining attention to detail in day-to-day operations.

Preferred Skills:

Experience working with leadership teams in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate issues and proactively develop solutions.• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Experience with CRM platforms, preferably Salesforce Sales Cloud

• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Accounting Functions

• Familiarity with Budget Processes and financial planning

• Ability to Analyze Financial Statements and draw actionable insights

• Experience with Financial Statement Preparation

• Proficiency in KPI Reporting and tracking financial performance metrics

• Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively present financial information

• Proven leadership abilities and experience managing a team

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required

• CPA or related certification is highly preferred

• Proven experience as a Controller or similar role in a finance department

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset

• Strong organization skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with financial software applications.
