Position Purpose:

Supervises the day-to-day operations of the Admissions department. Which includes but not limited to: Time keeping, education, auditing, and overseeing staff to ensure exceptional customer service.

What you will Do:

  • Facilitates resolution of issues.

  • Assists in developing, implementing, and monitoring a quality improvement plan that is reviewed and revised annually or as needed for CQI.

  • Assures actions and decisions are consistent with the mission, vision and values of MercyOne.

  • Manages change by educating team members to accept and acknowledge change, leading others through it with a positive outlook.

  • Assists in assuring new employees are oriented to department, job and assuring competency tests are completed and at a level of accuracy consistent with departmental goals.

  • Serves as the knowledge expert and education resource for staff.

  • Maintains a safe working environment and practices safe working habits.

Hours/Schedule:

1.0 FTE; 80 hours per two week pay period; typical hours are 8:00am-4:30pm but will vary depending on need of department; will include a call rotation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 years post-high school education, preferably in Medical Secretary Program.

  • Minimum 3 years medical office experience.

  • Ability to convey positive image and communicate tactfully and professionally with staff, patients, and the public.

  • Ability to articulate hospital policies and regulations.

  • Ability to work with diverse groups of people and to work under pressure.
