Construction Estimator
Key Responsibilities:
• Estimate new projects diligently and accurately
• Review and analyze project specifications,
drawings, and other documents to understand the scope of work.
• Identify and quantify project requirements,
including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
• Estimate the costs associated with materials,
labor, equipment, and overhead to determine the overall project cost.
• Utilize cost databases, historical data, and
industry benchmarks to enhance the accuracy of estimates.
• Perform quantity take-offs of all construction
systems.
• Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers,
subcontractors, and other service providers.
• Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors and
subcontractors to ensure cost-effectiveness.
• Effectively communicate with project managers,
architects, engineers, clients, and other stakeholders to gather information
and clarify project requirements.
• Provide clear and concise explanations of cost
estimates to support decision-making.
Requirements:
• High School diploma, or equivalent, required.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering or
related field preferred.
• 5-7 years' experience in the construction field,
preferably in a management role.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and
training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Experience communicating with subcontractors and
suppliers to ensure complete scope coverage.
