Description:

Position Purpose:

Receives and answers incoming calls, ascertains caller's needs, transfers calls accordingly and/or takes message for appropriate office or providers. Provides high-level customer service for MercyOne Northeast Iowa. Adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of MercyOne.

What you will Do:

  • Receives incoming calls for MercyOne Cedar Falls, Oelwein, and Waterloo.

  • Provides customer service.

  • Assists offices in handling large volume of calls via answering service.

  • Responds to emergency/stat calls and panic alarms.

  • Responds urgently to fire system alarms, boiler alarms, generator alarms, med gas alarms, weather radio and door alarms.

  • Trains, masters, and maintains competency of Amtelco Infinity system.

  • Adheres to all safety, infection control and colleague health policies and procedures.

Hours/Schedule:

.6 FTE; 48 hours per bi-weekly pay period; will include a weekend and holiday rotation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School or Equivalent (GED).

  • Minimum 2 years customer service/phone experience strongly preferred.

  • Experience with medical terminology or in a medical setting preferred.

  • Ability to speak clearly and communicate effectively with diverse groups of people.

  • Excellent telephone and customer service skills.

  • Ability to comprehend and follow detailed instructions.

  • Ability to work with a large degree of independence.
