Schedule: Every Other Weekend Off - 2 Days On, 2 Days Off, 3 Days On Rotation

Job Description:

Manpower is seeking a dedicated Weekend Cook to join our client in Mt. Pleasant, IA. In this role, you will play a crucial part in food preparation and ensuring exceptional culinary experiences for our customers. The Weekend Cook position offers an opportunity to contribute to a positive work environment and uphold high standards of food safety and customer service.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Cook and prepare a variety of foods following established production guidelines and recipes.

  • Set up workstations with necessary ingredients and cooking equipment.

  • Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items.

  • Safely use a range of utensils and kitchen equipment, including knives, ovens, stoves, and mixers.

  • Utilize various cooking methods such as baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming for meats, vegetables, and other dishes.

  • Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to presentation guidelines.

  • Ensure adherence to food safety policies and procedures, including proper food handling, sanitation, and storage.

  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils to maintain cleanliness standards.

  • Uphold excellent customer service and interact positively with guests, customers, and coworkers.

  • Follow safety policies, including the secure handling of company assets.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a cook or in a related role is required.

  • Knowledge of basic principles of food preparation, cooking methods, and food safety regulations.

  • Ability to obtain food safety certification as required.

  • Basic math skills and ability to perform simple calculations.

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Physical ability to meet the demands of the job, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

  • Willingness to wear uniforms and/or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary.
