Big River Resources Human Resource Associate in West Burlington, Iowa

Big River Resources is looking to add an HR Associate to the team at the West Burlington corporate office location. The HR Associate assists with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources functions and duties. The Human Resources Associate helps with the implementation of services, policies, and programs; reports to the Human Resources Manager and assists company managers with HR issues.

Qualifications

To perform the Human Resources Associate job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. These requirements are representative, but not all-inclusive, of the knowledge, skill, and ability required of the company Human Resources Associate.

  • Able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality

  • General knowledge of Human Resources policies and procedures and Healthcare compliance

  • Experience in administration of benefits and other HR programs

  • Minimum Associate Degree within related field or equivalent experience

  • Skills in database management and record keeping

  • Strong customer services skills and attitude

  • Ability to work with a team to create effective departmental strategies and meet team goals

  • Ability to work with many different people with different personalities

  • Strong computer skills, including spreadsheet database usage, Excel and Microsoft Word. Must be technology savvy and highly organized

  • Strong multi-tasking ability and ability to work through ambiguity

  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner

  • Must be able to gather and analyze information skillfully

  • Ability to understand general accounting concepts

    Description of Duties

  • Recruiting and staffing logistics

  • New employee orientation, development, and training logistics and record-keeping

  • Assisting with employee relations

  • Employee communication

  • Employee compensation and benefits administration

  • Employee safety, welfare, wellness, and health reporting

  • Employee services

  • Assists with special events and meeting coordination

  • Maintaining the board room

  • Setup for board meetings and special events

  • Make sure plates, cups, napkins are in supply for meetings

  • Maintaining employee files and the HR filing system

  • Assisting with the day-to-day efficient operation of the HR office

  • Development of an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality continuous improvement, and high performance.

  • Reconciling invoices

  • Payroll accounting general journal setup

  • Worker's compensation tracking and reporting

  • Updating company org charts as changes occur

  • Processing COBRA documentation

  • All other duties as assigned
