Athene Developer Intern in West Des Moines, Iowa

Builds and maintains effective information software applications that assist the company in minimizing administrative costs and maximizing information flow.

Internships will run from mid-May to early August

These are in-office internships at our West Des Moines located at 7700 Mills Civic Parkway.

Interviews and hiring decisions expect to be completed prior to mid-November, with some being completed as early as late September.

Accountabilities:

  • Provides accurate estimates for assigned unit of development.

  • Demonstrates ability to resolve routine programming issues.

  • Documents own code and produces technical design documentation with guidance from senior members.

  • Develops small to medium size applications.

  • Performs application testing to assure delivery meets the user’s requirements.

  • Assists project managers in conducting fact-findings, which will result in the formulation and definition of the system scope and objectives for developing or modifying information software applications.

  • Follows and adheres of internal policies and procedures (standards, controls and metrics).

  • Basic understanding of coding best practices

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Currently enrolled in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Ability to interpret detailed project specifications and business requirements to develop program logic and code.

  • Demonstrates basic understanding of Project Management and SDLC processes.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks within the project and work with minimal supervision or guidance.

  • Process and detail oriented with the ability to grasp complex business workflows and processes.

  • Experience in the financial services industry is a plus.

  • C#, .Net MVC, Angular, AWS/Azure cloud experience a plus
