Job Description:

Job Title: Fast and Fresh Supervisor

Department: Fast and Fresh Store

FLSA: Exempt

General Function

Responsible for the enhancement and growth of the C-Store business, including fuel and inside sales. Educates and trains staff on product features and merchandising techniques including shelving set up, product choice and pricing. Responsible for set up and product purchase at new stores. Works with vendors on plan-o-grams.

Centrally located residency is required within the region.

Reporting Relations

Accountable and Reports to: Vice President, Convenience Stores

Positions that Report to you: Directors; Department Managers

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works with stores to help obtain sales and profit goals.

  • Supervises and trains staff on merchandising concepts, sales ideas and pricing concepts.

  • Planning and performing new store, remodels, relocations and resets, including merchandise ordering and pricing product, ordering fixtures and equipment, installing shelving, ad planning and projecting, and hiring and training new employees.

  • Oversees the Convenience Stores Operations.

  • Ensures stores are consistent in product offering and execution of company initiatives.

  • Ensures environmental and government compliance.

  • Works with suppliers and purchasing team of fuel purchasing, product assortment, new items and new categories.

  • Develops leads and works closely with the Directors of Convenience Stores.

  • Reports to work when scheduled and works expected number of hours.

  • Performs price surveys.

  • Analyzes market and the competition.

  • Attends and participates in departmental, company and industry meetings.

  • Performs other job related duties and special projects as required.

Education and Experience

High School or equivalent; 5 – 8 years of similar or related work experience

Supervisory Responsibilities (Direct Reports)

  • Instructing, assigning work, reviewing work, planning the work of others, maintaining standards, coordinating activities and allocating personnel.

  • Assists in the selection of new employees and acts on employee problems.

  • Has the authority to recommend employee transfer, promotion and discipline.

Physical Requirements

  • Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near range with or without correction

  • Must be physically able to perform medium work: occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 50 pounds

  • Must be able to perform the following physical activities: standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions

Work Environment

The duties for this position are normally conducted in a combination of office and store environments. There is frequent pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities in a day.

Equipment Used to Perform Job

Hand and power tools, PC with Microsoft Office programs, registers, pumps, air compressor, power washer, veeder root, oven, roller grills and other food service equipment, company car.

Confidentiality

Has access to confidential information including knowledge of employee issues, profit and loss statements, trust fund, and store operations

Contacts

Has daily contact with customers, store personnel, suppliers/vendors and occasional contact with the general public and Federal/State Governmental or Regulatory Agencies.
