Job Title: FULLY REMOTE Technology Engineer
Job Description
As a Technology Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing telecommunications and structured cabling systems, security systems including access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection. You will create Revit families and assist with symbiology creation for security, as well as design telecommunications infrastructure and video management systems with a thorough understanding of network impact and storage/retention solutions.
Responsibilities
Design telecommunications and structured cabling systems.
Create and implement security systems including access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection.
Develop Revit families and assist with symbiology creation for security purposes.
Design telecommunications infrastructure and video management systems (VMS) with network impact and storage/retention solutions in mind.
Create addenda and respond to RFIs and substitution requests.
Generate supplemental instructions and price requests for design adjustments.
Prepare observation reports and punch lists.
Essential Skills
6+ years of relevant experience preferred.
Proficiency in Autodesk’s Revit and AutoCAD platforms for technology design.
Familiarity with BIM/Standards Development is advantageous.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with electrical, lighting, and electrical power distribution systems.
Knowledge in technology engineering and technology design.
Competence in BIM, lighting design, power distribution, installation, engineering, and process control systems.
Work Environment
This role involves working on construction sites where personal protective equipment (hard hats) will be provided. The position also requires operating a vehicle to and from meetings and job sites, necessitating a valid driver’s license. Exposure to job site hazards is expected.
