Purpose:
We are seeking a dynamic Senior Investment Accountant to support the continuous growth of Athene’s investment portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in fixed income investments, which include bonds and stocks!
Accountabilities:
Responsible for the investment accounting close activities including the preparation of journal entries, management reports and account reconciliations
Prepare U.S. Statutory, U.S. GAAP, and Bermuda Statutory investment financial statements, footnotes and supporting schedules including consolidated U.S. GAAP filings (10Q & 10K)
Review of investment portfolio activity in the PAM for Investments (PFI) system and perform related general ledger reconciliations
Lead continuous improvement projects and challenge current processes within the team
Support the financial analysis of operating results, balance sheets, and other key performance indicators related to annual planning, quarterly forecasting, and analysis against actual results
Support internal and external audit requests
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
5+ years work experience specifically in investments, banking and/or accounting required
Knowledge of U.S. GAAP required. Knowledge of U.S. Statutory financial accounting regulations preferred
Advanced Microsoft Excel experience required
Ability to multi-task and adjust quickly in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to change priorities to meet critical deadlines
Knowledge of fixed income investments and applicable accounting guidance preferred
Experience with PAM for Investments (PFI) or other investment accounting systems strongly desired
Public accounting experience is a plus and CPA designation strongly preferred
$99,920.00 - $149,880.00 USD Annual
Annual Salary for this role is market competitive. Actual salary for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Depending on the role, a discretionary bonus plan or variable sales incentive may be included.
