These are in-office internships at our West Des Moines located at 7700 Mills Civic Parkway.

Accountabilities:

As the External Relations intern, you will have the opportunity to learn the process for crafting and executing proactive communications and stakeholder engagement plans to drive broader awareness of Athene’s business. The intern may support projects pertaining to media engagement, marketing, corporate responsibility, government relations, and investor relations. This position will allow the intern to apply skills and help gain the professional and personal growth necessary to be successful in a corporate environment.

• Shadow and learn the intake process for earned media opportunities (proactive / reactive)o Craft messaging, talking points, etc. to support relevant opportunities • Identify newsworthy items to share with stakeholders • Collaborate and explore tactics that can be utilized to amplify Athene’s corporate voiceo Work with cross-functional teams (i.e., Marketing, Internal Comms, Investor Relations, Government Relations, etc.) to share messaging with target audiences • Assess current media monitoring/tracking programs & recommend new opportunities to enhance analytics • Aid in aligning Athene’s engagement calendar with external organizations • Perform strategic audits • Present strategic recommendation to management on assigned external relations 10-week project

Qualifications and Experience:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills• Effective time management skills• Strong interpersonal skills• Knowledge of AP Style• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite• Ability to work independently and collaborate with other team members • Creative, problem solver
