We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an RPG Programmer in WEST DES MOINES, Iowa. The role involves the development, testing, and deployment of complex business application solutions to support both internal operations and external customer channels.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of software solutions of varying complexity levels

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to define and document project requirements

• Work closely with Product Owners, Account Managers, and IT Architects in providing technical recommendations and estimating project timelines

• Handle the testing, deployment, and documentation of software solutions

• Mentor engineers and ensure adherence to development standards

• Monitor and manage timelines for assigned projects

• Assist in the deployment of applications and carry out extensive testing of systems and interfaces.

Skills:

• Proficient in AS400 RPG, IBM-RPG, RPG Free, and SSA-BPCS

• Strong understanding of business systems and processes

• Excellent multitasking and communication skills.

Requirements • Proficiency in AS400 RPG, IBM-RPG, RPG, RPG Free, and SSA-BPCS.

• Demonstrated ability to design, code, test, debug, and document RPG programs.

• Strong understanding of database structure, design, query languages (SQL), and system testing.

• Proven experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

• Proactive attitude with a focus on continuous improvement in work processes.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work towards long-term goals.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
