Wells Fargo Senior Credit Risk Specialist - Consumer Lending, Corporate Risk in WEST DES MOINES, Iowa
About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Credit Risk Specialist in the Home Lending Servicing Risk (HLSR) team as part of Corporate Risk and will primarily focus on managing credit risk within Home Lending by performing complex data analysis to monitor and develop Home Lending credit strategies, models, and programs.
A successful candidate will have strong data analysis skills, superb communication, and demonstrated success driving innovative solutions to analytic challenges.
In this role, you will:
Lead moderately complex initiatives and identify opportunity for risk mitigation strategies through in depth evaluation
Perform complex data analysis to support Home Lending credit strategies, models, and programs
Use your business acumen and analytical experience to monitor trends, perform root cause analyses, and proactively prescribe strategies to capture opportunities to drive business results
Contribute to credit performance, potential or emerging risks
Effectively collaborate and consult in a matrixed organization with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals; communicate analytical findings and recommendations across multiple levels of the organization
Determine accuracy and relevancy of information to effectively generate and evaluate conclusions and/or recommend alternatives
Work with internal business partners to ensure flawless data process, analysis and accurate credit strategy implementation
Interact with internal/external customers, Audit, Legal, external agencies, and regulatory bodies on risk related topics
Develop and support risk process control and documentation development and/or enhancements.
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Credit Risk experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
3+ years of strong programing skills in Python/SAS/SQL/Tableau with hands on experience handling large datasets
2+ year of credit strategy and/or score model experience
A BS/BA degree or higher
Home lending experience with subject matter expertise in Servicing ie: collections, loss mitigation, foreclosure, REO, bankruptcy, loss processing
Outstanding problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise independent judgment to identify and resolve problems
Adept at translating technical output into business language
Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal direction; ability to exercise independent judgment and apply prudent risk mitigation principles
Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment; strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$84,000.00 - $149,400.00
