TELLIGEN Senior Project Manager in WEST DES MOINES, Iowa

The Senior Project Manager manages projects of varying size and complexity, following standardized project management processes. You will oversee all project-related disciplines required for the successful and timely project completion. You will develop effective relationships with internal and external customers. You will facilitate scrum ceremonies and lead IT development teams through the agile development process.

Hybrid Schedule: This position can expect to work 2-3 days per week in the West Des Moines, IA office.

Essential Functions

  • Develops, finalizes, and manages the timeline, budget, and security plans and monitors the process for projects.
  • Manages the scope of projects to ensure they are completed according to the requirements.
  • Performs actual to-plan comparison on the project, identifies any deviation from the project baseline, and requests timeline extensions and/or additional monies.
  • Ensures projects meet internal quality control standards and that internal quality control reports are prepared.
  • May assist in the hiring and training of staff.
  • Provides input to management regarding the performance of project team members.
  • Manages customers' expectations concerning projects and works with the customer to turn ideas into future business opportunities.
  • Provides input regarding project management processes and assists in preparing cost and technical proposals.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree in MIS, Computer Science, Business or related field, and/or equivalent training and/or experience
  • 5-7 years experience managing projects using a formal project management methodology
  • Because of the nature and immediacy of the work, the ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance is essential
  • Experience facilitating the agile development process
  • Experience working with IT technical teams and leading technical projects
  • Ability to work independently with the development team and management to resolve roadblocks and address issues
  • Ability to report on the team's progress and make improvements to the team
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with the team, product owners, solution delivery managers, and management
